How do you write an eBook and market it?

How do you write an eBook and market it?

Making an eBook might be easy for some people, but most will find writing challenging. If you desire to write an eBook, first, you need a good plan and a willingness to write an eBook. Writing skills will help improve thinking power and communication, and if you want to succeed, writing ability is one of the crucial factors. Firstly, write down the points you will write about after deciding on a niche. Many tools are available on the Internet to help you improve your writing skills, such as Grammarly and Google Docs to save your book, and many books are open for you to read about writing.

You need to follow these points before you even start to write.

  1. Decide on a niche
  2. Do you research that niche and ensure you have a passion for that niche?
  3. Hire an eBook writer
  4. Look for a target market.
  5. Keyword research.
  6. Assess the time that you will need to write
  7. Keep a clear vision about writing, revising, and editing.
  8. What graphics might you need to include?
  9. Design of the eBook cover
  10. How will you publish it?

1. Decide on a niche

Daily events

You must be very assertive when looking for daily news about bestselling products, but this might be for a short time, and you can make a good profit quickly. If you can release your eBook, you will have a better chance of making more profit.

Bestseller and Hot Lists

Some of the biggest e-commerce sites offer bestsellers and hot lists for their visitors. These lists help visitors find deals or topics that are highly popular and can tempt them into buying them. They can also help you determine what issues sell best on the Internet.

Popular Discussion groups

It is good to visit these groups and search for your topic; for example, visit the Yahoo.com group and see which category has the highest number of members in that group. Select that category and use that as your topic to write your eBook. Therefore, these are the most popular groups for writing your next eBook with rich content in these categories.

Google Tools

When you research, you will find that nonfiction eBooks are more popular than fiction ones as people always look for solutions to their problems. Most professionals, computer experts, and finance people are looking for solutions for their issues; therefore, it will be wiser for you to write an eBook with a nonfiction topic in mind. Further, when you start writing about a case, if you use “how-to,” more people will visit your eBook to buy.

2. Ensure that you have a passion for it.

You must research to check your passion; if you do, you might start to dislike it, which is a huge problem. So you must check your love and conclude that you will stay with it to see success. That helps you create an exciting eBook because you will put your heart into it when you write your eBook.

3. Hire an eBook writer

Most of us can try to do the writing, but some find it problematic that it will take a long time to write the eBook; if that is the case, you can decide on hiring a writer. You can easily find them cheaper from places like Fiverr; you only need to give them the topic, niche, and keywords.

4. Look for a target market

Well agreed а huge number оf people wоuld check оut уоur product. But whаt іѕ thе point іf thе target consumers do nоt check іt оut? Hеnсе, fоr thаt, уоu need tо put оn thе website аѕ tо whаt іѕ уоur target audience аnd whо do уоu think соuld bе уоur potential consumers. If fоr ѕоmе reason уоu аrе nоt tоо active оn Twitter, mау bе а bit оf research wоuld bе required. More ѕо whеn уоu want tо know how tо get more followers оn Twitter.

People who can read English will read your book, but those are other target markets. First, free your ebook to attract some people; you can use Facebook ads to get an audience. Join eBook blogs or Facebook groups to introduce yourself as a writer. Then the interested people will come to you.

5. Keyword research.

These are essential, and you need to use them throughout your work so that search engines can find your product and index it.

Keyword research helps you identify your target market and how they can find your content, services, or products.

Keyword research offers you with particular search data that can help you answer questions like:

  • What are people searching for them?
  • How many people are searching for it?
  • In what format do they want that information?

6. Assess the time that you will need to write.

When you have done all these, you must outline your eBook content; then, you can assess the time you will take to complete your writing. But it also depends on your speed and how you are used to the writing work. Write. If I say about myself, I typically take about 20 minutes to write 500 words these days, so if I have to write 3000 words, I will take about 2 hrs to write that number of words. So, you must think like this and decide for yourself.

7. Keep a clear vision about writing, revising, and editing

Remember, it does not mean the eBook will be ready to publish when you finish writing. So first, check that you wrote a reasonable explanation for the topic you have chosen; sometimes, when you register, you can write things that are not relevant. So ensure it is correct if you still need to revise and rewrite it. Then it comes to the point of editing, ensuring that there are no grammatical and spelling errors as that might put off your readers and end up giving a bad review, which will affect your sales.

8. The graphics that you might need to include.

I include great visuals as an indirect explanation for the contents. I added infographics with good tips so that people who cannot understand the words can read them and help themselves. Sometimes, I include quizzes so that they can find the answers to the examinations, which allows them to develop more concentration while reading them.

9. Design of the eBook cover

I always use Canva to design my book covers, but if you want to do something different, you can use Fiverr to create your book covers at a cheaper rate. So it is up to you to decide.

10. How will you publish it?

I use Amazon to publish all my books and eBooks. I also have my website to upload all my publications so people who visit my site can see them. You should use different platforms to publish your work. Still, as time passes, you must be independent, like having your website and advertising and selling your products, to prevent any issues with others who sell your products.

Learn the ways to promote without wasting money.

I also wasted a little money, but fortunately, I stopped spending that money. You have to think for yourself without taking other people’s advice. The best way is to keep learning and find your correct path through trial and error. Learning and experiencing will give you more confidence, and you will believe you can do it. Another thing when I said keep learning is that you must look for something that will help your business. I never used paid advertisements, but I get visitors to my blogs, telling you how I did that.

Social media

I write posts for my three blogs and post on Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest, Google Plus, Reddit, Tumblr, and a few more sites. I do this regularly so viewers know they get to read my posts on those days. As a result, I get regular visitors to my posts and some followers. I pay attention to and acknowledge the responses when I get them. When you use social media building, a community of the same business interests becomes helpful in sharing ideas and learning more. People like to watch videos rather than read something and then use them to produce and share them on social media.

Email list

I have got a small email list and sent them the weekly newsletter. I write a superb newsletter with some good content worth reading. We cannot put many advertisements in our newsletter because it puts people off. Indeed, write something that interests them and include some publications as we all must make a living. Build trust and ensure your audience gets the information quickly and efficiently. Another way to find people is to look on the web and send them a short, personalized email. Then, explain what you do and ask for feedback to help you learn more. Then, keep in touch with them regularly to see whether you can get any help from them.

Provide valuable content.

You can provide helpful information if you expect your visitors to keep coming back. You could write about the problems people expect in your industry and show them the solutions. Also, please pay attention to the issues and the consequences they will face later. When you start to create your content, prepare a checklist so that you will get all the information. Do you know your target audience? You have to plan your content to attract them. The information you give in your content should show your credibility to impress potential customers. If they see the value in your content, they might become your customers. Finally, your visitors will turn away quickly if you do not provide helpful information.

Article Directories

I have been writing and using Hub pages to publish my articles. If my article gets featured and they post it on their website, that will bring a massive amount to my site. So, that is a form of free advertising. Many article directories are available, and you will benefit a lot by publishing your articles in those directories. When you post your essay, you can include links so that it looks like a contact point for your potential visitors.

Traditional Marketing

After all these technological advancements, I want to mention that people use traditional marketing in many ways. Again, many entrepreneurs use direct mailing and have seen lots of success with that. Direct mailing is costly but can promote your business well; it is a reliable option if you can afford it. When you are running a small business from your home, attending forums helps you when you give out your business cards. Producing business cards is relatively inexpensive nowadays. You should always carry your business cards and give them away when meeting someone with the same interest. That becomes a word-of-mouth promotion when one of your successful clients talks about your business to others.

When I started to write an eBook, I wrote about some touching incidents I saw a few years ago. I have witnessed a childhood friend of mine who was very well off and had a happy life for about forty years, and they nearly lost everything in the end; they lost two of their family members. That happened because they made the wrong decisions that affected them severely.

Then I wrote about a holiday in which I experienced happiness and felt exhausted, which made me think that I would not go on a holiday like that. My other eBook was about my sister; the topic was “how I paid my tributes to my dead sister. I could not write a simple letter, even about two or three years ago, and now I am writing articles, daily posts, and even eBooks. Do you know why I am writing this? I encourage you to write.

This is how I started writing, and now I have written 110 eBooks and created 40 online courses, publishing all of them on famous platforms. So, if I can do it, you can, too.

Have you written your eBook and are now learning about marketing it?

It’s not a good idea to sell your book to everyone. Instead, you can try some group of people in your target market.

Create an effective sales letter with a short description of your book and what they will benefit from it, and they can have some fun and learn lessons from it. Give your clients some options on your website to buy it from you. Or they can subscribe to your newsletter so you can try to sell your future productions.

There are many other marketing techniques that you can use to promote your website and your eBook, such as search engine optimization and online directories, to promote your website and your eBook using social media.

You can only make money if you sell your eBook, which may be easier than writing it.
